Witnessing the Roundups: Through My Eyes

Roundups are something you can’t truly understand until you’ve stood there, watching. The distant hum of a helicopter grows louder, dust rises on the horizon, and then they appear—wild horses, running for their lives. I’ve seen the fear in their eyes, the foals struggling to keep up, the exhaustion as they are driven into traps.

These are moments that stay with me. The chaos, the separation of families, the silence that follows once the dust settles. This isn’t just management—it’s loss. And yet, I document it, because the world needs to see what is happening.

Through my lens, I capture not just the roundup, but the resilience of these horses. And through my voice, I will continue to fight for their right to remain wild.
