BLM & U.S. Forest Service Wild Horse Holding Facilities

After wild horses and burros are removed from public lands through roundups, they are transported to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and U.S. Forest Service holding facilities. These facilities serve as temporary or long-term housing for captured animals, but they are often overcrowded and lack the natural freedom these wild animals once had. *Note the FS uses one corral- Double Devils Holding Corral

Born into captivity, they take their last breath behind fences, never given the chance to run free, to feel the wind in their manes, or to live in the wild

Foals born in holding facilities pay the highest price—never tasting the freedom their ancestors once knew, born behind fences instead of under open skies, their wild legacy stolen before they ever take their first breath.
