The Callaghan Complex HMA - public comments

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public input on the development of the Callaghan Complex Herd Management Area Plan (HMAP). This plan will guide the future management of wild horses within the Callaghan Complex, located approximately 6 miles north of Austin, Nevada, encompassing 152,726 acres of BLM land and 3,430 acres of mixed private and other public lands.

The HMAP aims to address management objectives such as maintaining wild horse populations within Appropriate Management Levels (AML), ensuring sustainable forage and water resources, and preserving ecological balance. The BLM encourages stakeholders, including local communities, advocacy groups, and interested individuals, to provide comments, concerns, and suggestions to inform the planning process.

To participate, please visit the BLM's ePlanning website for the Callaghan Complex HMAP project at PUBLIC COMMENTS, where you can find more information and submit your comments. Engaging in this process ensures that diverse perspectives are considered in the management of the Callaghan Complex's wild horse populations.
