Public comment open on Lincoln County Public Lands Sale

Public Comment open until April 25 2025

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is considering the sale of approximately 5,500 acres of public land, divided into 66 parcels, within the Caliente Complex in Lincoln County, Nevada. This proposal follows the recent removal of wild horses from the area, a decision that has drawn concern from advocacy groups and members of the public who oppose the elimination of wild horse populations for the purpose of land disposal. Additionally, there is concern that the proposed sale could lead to increased livestock grazing on lands where wild horses were previously deemed unsustainable.
